Dust Bowl oli lähes kymmenen vuotta jatkunut kuivuuskausi, joka muutti Yhdysvaltain Keskilännen ruohotasangot hiekkaerämaaksi 1930-luvulla. Clouds Hanging Low -näyttelyn öljymaalaukset sekä piirrosanimaatio The Rig kertovat sarjakuvaromaani Hiekan maailmasta: tasangosta, jonka ihminen on ottanut omakseen ja muokannut omiin tarpeisiinsa sopivaksi, ja sitten jättänyt tuulen armoille.

EN: In the 1930’s Dust Bowl, a decade long drought, turned the American Mid West plains into desert.The oil paintings and animation, The Rig, refer to the landscapes of the graphic novel Sand. The plains that once were cultivated by the people, left only to be swept away by the wind. The buildings that once served the inhabitants are now deserted. They are a reminder of the past and remain as a part of the scenery until nature eventually reclaims it all.
